We sent a new container with 12 tons of Humanitarian Aid to the San Juan de Dios Rest Center in Piura.

A 12-foot container containing nearly 12 tons of hospital supplies, equipment, food, cleaning products, clothing, and footwear has left the Juan Ciudad NGO Humanitarian Aid warehouse in Madrid for the San Juan de Dios Rest Home in Piura, Peru.

These materials were requested by this center, which opened in 1976 and is dedicated to mental health services for the population of northern Peru, a country with an emerging economy that still suffers from high poverty rates due to social inequality.

The center's work includes prevention, research, and teaching in mental health, in accordance with the general standards of the Peruvian Ministry of Health, and has 80 beds for admissions.

Mental health is one of the most neglected areas of the healthcare system, so there is a great need in this field, especially among the low-income population and those at risk of social exclusion, which is the population served at the San Juan de Dios Rest Center in Piura.

From Juan Ciudad NGO, we would like to thank all the donors and San Juan de Dios centers in Spain, as well as other charitable organizations that collaborate with us to make these shipments possible, which are essential to supporting the activities of our centers.
