Two new containers left the Juan Ciudad NGO Humanitarian Aid warehouse in Madrid last January, bound for the Brothers of St. John of God Mental Health Center in Lomé, Togo, and St. Joseph Hospital in Monrovia, Liberia.
The container for Lomé was 20 feet long and weighed about 9 tons, and the one for Monrovia was 40 feet long and weighed about 10 tons.
These containers have included hospital supplies, wheelchairs, hospital beds, hospital linens, toiletries, and cleaning products, as well as non-perishable foods such as legumes, rice, pasta, oil, and cookies, among others.

We would like to thank all the people who collaborate with Juan Ciudad ONGD to make these shipments possible, as well as the San José Institute Foundation (Madrid), Brother Francisco Vallejos in Barcelona, Brother Goñi from the Jesus Abandonado Shelter (Murcia), the SJD Center of Ciempozuelos (Madrid), the San Juan de Dios Shelter (Madrid), the Carrefour Foundation, the H&M company and PRIM Suministros Médicos SA (Madrid) for the donated materials.

Human Development Index
According to the latest UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) report published in 2015, "Work for Human Development," Togo is a country with a Low Development Index, ranking 162nd, and Liberia is also a country with a Low Development Index, ranking 177th. This implies that the majority of the population in these countries lives in poverty.
For the sake of comparison, Spain is ranked 26th, while Norway and Australia are ranked first.
