Training: People in the Journalistic Spotlight: Resistance and Alternatives to Hate Speech and Fake News.

The Coordinator of NGOs for Development in Spain presents a new training course for October 24th and 25th, aimed at communications professionals from NGOs, development NGOs, and social organizations, journalists, media representatives, and journalism students.

As an introduction, they tell us that journalistic practices contribute to our understanding of "others" being based, increasingly, on what separates us rather than what unites us. Every moment, an avalanche of information bombards us from our phones; it's difficult to filter out the content that's relevant, decisive, or simply true.

We live in a time of resistance, in which communication and journalism must reclaim their social function of providing citizens with the tools they need to interpret the world around them.

For all these reasons, the course aims to identify trends in the information and communications market, as well as showcase resilience initiatives from journalism and civil society. It also provides professionals with the necessary tools for responsible practice of journalism and communications in times of crisis.

Below is the link to the website where you can find all the information on course registration, including location, dates, and prices. Places are limited, and the deadline to apply is October 22nd.
