The San Juan de Dios Hospital in León holds a charity race for Senegal.

The San Juan de Dios Hospital in León, in collaboration with the Department of Sports of the San Andrés del Rabanedo City Council and the León Provincial Council, is launching its Second Charity Race on Sunday, October 2, at 11:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the new facilities of the San Juan de Dios Hospital in León, located at 73 San Ignacio de Loyola Avenue.

The race will run through the streets surrounding the hospital, covering approximately 2 kilometers, along a flat, paved route designed to accommodate participants of all ages, with a special focus on children and the elderly.

Before the race, participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt and a numbered race number. Upon reaching the finish line, they will receive a runner's bag with refreshments. Afterward, a raffle will be held for prizes linked to their race number. There will also be fun activities for children.

The registration fee is 3 euros, which will be used entirely to fund roof repairs at a mental health center run by the Order of Saint John of God in the Fatick region of Senegal. It serves more than 5,000 patients each year, most of whom live in poverty and social neglect.

The hospital has collaborated with the San Andrés del Rabanedo City Council and the León Provincial Council to organize the race, as well as the solidarity of 34 companies from various sectors, which have contributed everything from a small gift for the raffle to a monetary sum to cover the purchase of the T-shirts. The sponsoring companies have been: Agfa, Áreacien, AVATA Hispania, Carpintería Pardo, Coca-Cola, Cuevas Artes Gráficas, Desinplag, Divernodia, Editorial MIC, Equipamiento los Roblicos, Espacio León, Félix Sanz, Flores Santamaría, Leclerc Hypermarkets, Ilunion, IPS, KARSA, Kimberly Clark, Marval, Megalab, Moncobra, MRW, Odeón Multicines, Ordoño Digital, Canónigo Juan Orthopedics, PREMAP, Rebeca Products, SMI, Sumeler, Syper Seguridad, Telehogar, Urbansanea, Vamedis and Viveros el Cerecedo.
