Thanks to the solidarity of many individuals and other organizations that have collaborated with the "Give Us the Can" Campaign promoted by the San Juan de Dios Assistance Center in Palencia (4,030 kilos) and the San Juan de Dios Center in Valladolid (395 kilos), a total of 4,425 kilos of canned food have been collected, which will be sent to the hospitals and centers of the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God in Africa and Latin America.
These foods will be shipped via Humanitarian Aid containers sent by Juan Ciudad NGO every two weeks from the warehouse located at the San José Institute Foundation in Madrid. These containers will then travel by sea to the port of destination, where they will be picked up by the Brothers of San Juan de Dios responsible for the centers in each country.

On April 26, a container was shipped to St. Joseph's Hospital in Monrovia containing eight tons of hospital supplies and nearly a ton of food, including canned goods and other non-perishable items collected during the campaigns in Valladolid and Palencia.
Food is one of the most in-demand products for these centers, as it supports the social and healthcare services they provide to the population in the areas of hospitals, disabilities, mental health, seniors, and people at risk of social exclusion.

The food collection campaign was promoted by Raquel Juanes, representative of Juan Ciudad NGO in Castile and León and a worker at the SJD Center in Valladolid, and by Luis Turrión, head of Volunteers at the SJD Assistance Center in Palencia. Volunteers and workers were involved in its implementation.

We would also like to thank these other organizations that have supported their collaboration with food collection points:
