The Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God, through its NGO Juan Ciudad, has launched the Superior General's Campaign 2026, a solidarity initiative focused on improving access to and quality of mental health care in Honduras.
The project includes the creation of an outpatient care center in San Pedro Sula, designed to offer specialized assistance under an accessible, safe and person-centered model.
This initiative arises as a response to the growing need for psychological and psychiatric care in the country, especially among the most vulnerable groups, who in many cases lack resources or access to adequate services.
The new center will have as its main objective to provide quality outpatient care, ensuring a safe and accessible environment for patients. Furthermore, efforts will be made to improve access to mental health services by reducing economic and social barriers.
Key pillars of the project include specialized care for vulnerable populations, enhanced safety and accessibility in treatments, and promotion and prevention in mental health.
All of this with a comprehensive approach that seeks not only to treat, but also to prevent and raise awareness about the importance of emotional well-being.
Under the motto âMental health, a right for allâ, The campaign aims to mobilize society to collaborate in financing the project and contribute to generating a real impact on the lives of hundreds of people.
The NGO Juan Ciudad invites individuals, companies and institutions to join this solidarity initiative, emphasizing that collective involvement is key to guaranteeing dignified access to mental health.
Interested individuals can participate through donations and collaborations, helping to make this new health resource possible in Honduras.
