The "1st Juan Ciudad ONGD-Castilla y León Artistic Solidarity Competition" had sustainable development as its central theme, and is part of several Development Education activities that have been carried out in early 2018 at the IES Condesa Eylo Alfonso and the Centro Didáctico de Formación Integral SL educational centers, both located in Valladolid, the latter being the winner of the painting competition.
These activities were carried out within the framework of the Preventive and Community Health Promotion project in four settlements in Iquitos (Peru), funded by the Regional Government of Castile and León, with the San Juan de Dios Clinic in Iquitos as the counterpart.
The award ceremony for the group of five winning students took place during the graduation ceremony in June and was attended by Raquel Juanes, the Juan Ciudad NGO representative in Castile and León and a volunteer from the delegation. The award-winning students received a copy of "El libro verde" by El Roto and a backpack containing a Juan Ciudad NGO notebook.
