The project aims to guarantee a safe, accessible, and suitable environment for the comprehensive care of children with disabilities. The intervention includes the rehabilitation and improvement of the residential home's facilities, providing children with spaces adapted to their educational, therapeutic, and social needs, thus promoting their personal development and social inclusion.
The renovation of the center will improve living conditions, accessibility, hygiene, and safety, strengthening St. John of God Center's capacity to provide quality services to children with various disabilities. Furthermore, the project will contribute to creating a more supportive environment for inclusive education, rehabilitation, psychosocial support, and the development of life skills, promoting person-centered care and respect for their rights.
Among the main expected impacts are improved well-being and quality of life for the children benefiting from the program, increased opportunities for learning and social participation, and strengthened personal autonomy. Furthermore, the intervention will enhance the center's institutional capacity to serve a greater number of beneficiaries under appropriate and sustainable conditions, contributing to the inclusion of people with disabilities and to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education, reduced inequalities, and child well-being.
