At Juan Ciudad NGO, we join the ongoing actions to remind everyone of the importance of urgently implementing more measures to curb climate change, from an environmental and social perspective, where people remain at the center of sustainable human development. We share the "Global Climate Day Manifesto" prepared by "Fridays for Future" and numerous civil society organizations, disseminated by La Coordinada, of which we are a member.
We face a wide range of possible scenarios and we cannot let our guard down: it is in our hands to drive change that advances toward an eco-social, fair, and democratic project, or our inaction could lead us toward the definitive exhaustion of the resources that sustain life and a significant worsening of social exclusion and the violation of human rights.
Millions of young people around the world are once again raising their voices: the situation is unsustainable, the planet is on the brink of collapse. In recent months, our world has undergone unprecedented change. The COVID-19 pandemic has shaken the foundations of our system. The weaknesses and contradictions of a predatory economy on the brink of collapse have been exposed.
