Results of the study on shipping containers to counterparties

In 2019, the JCONGD Logistics Support Department conducted a study through surveys and field data collection to analyze the effectiveness of the materials shipped in recent years and improve these shipments, with the goal of making them truly efficient for the receiving centers.

Among the results obtained, it is noteworthy that all San Juan Dios centers in nine countries in Africa and Latin America that receive containers have expressed their interest in maintaining them, as they truly provide invaluable support for the social and healthcare activities they carry out. Furthermore, the importance of creating a list of needs for each center has been identified, allowing each shipment to be individualized to meet the specific requirements of each partner.

Although our counterparts have many needs, not everything is eligible. Therefore, under the premise of continuing to work as efficiently as possible and ensuring the sustainability of the centers we support, the list of needs has been sent to all JCONGD delegations, who are collaborating by obtaining financial and in-kind resources for logistical support shipments.

These shipments may include equipment, hospital supplies, hygiene products, and non-perishable food, depending on the needs reported to us by each center.

In 2020, submissions will continue to be analyzed, as this is a process that evolves with the changes experienced by the centers themselves.
