2020 has been an especially difficult year for everyone, including development organizations, which have had to reinvent themselves to continue amid so much uncertainty and a lack of resources worldwide. The virus has shown us that it knows no borders, but fortunately, neither does the power of solidarity. This was the motto of the Zero Poverty Campaign in Castilla y León, and it is clear that we must all join forces to confront the COVID-19 pandemic in the best possible way.
From the Juan Ciudad NGO delegation in Castile and León, we have remained in constant contact with our colleagues at the central office, disseminating and supporting emergency campaigns and initiatives that have emerged, also within our geographic area through the Coordinator of Development Organizations of Castile and León (COODECYL), of which we have been a member since 2013.
We've moved from in-person meetings to virtual ones, from seeing each other and working through screens, but we've also taken advantage of the opportunities the digital world offers us to reach more people, such as through the videoconference series held in October in Castilla y León as part of the Zero Poverty Campaign and promoted by COODECYL.
We're starting the new year with optimism, strength, and enthusiasm. We aim to secure more human and material support to help us continue raising awareness of Juan Ciudad NGO's activities and projects. We want to give a boost to the local delegations in Palencia, Burgos, and León, where we already have people who are aware of and committed to the work of Juan Ciudad NGO. Thanks to everyone, we'll be able to go further and further because every little bit counts, is important, and means a lot to keep moving forward.
