Officials from the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Zaragoza visit the twinned center in Camagüey.

On the occasion of the 200th Anniversary of Father Olallo and the twinning relationship between the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Zaragoza and the Hogar Padre Olallo Assistance Center in Camagüey (Cuba), Carmen Vicente Gaspar, manager of the Zaragoza hospital, traveled in mid-February, along with Brother Julián Sapiña, superior of the center, and Pedro Hernández Goyenechea, administrative economic director.

The goal was to gain firsthand insight into the context and reality of Camagüey. On the trip, they met with Brothers from Colombia, Mexico, and Honduras, who also attended the anniversary celebrations held on February 12.

The Padre Olallo Home has a residence and day center for seniors, as well as a palliative care area and a soup kitchen. The care provided is of high quality, although the supply of some medical and food materials is limited. Therefore, the support the Camagüey center receives from several centers in Spain and Juan Ciudad NGO, which regularly sends containers of logistical support, is of great importance. It also promotes other projects at the various centers of the Hospitaller Order in Cuba.

Manolo Vela, representative of Juan Ciudad NGO in the Autonomous Community of Aragon and employee of the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Zaragoza, facilitated the pre-trip meeting with Gonzalo Sales, the organization's director, and provided an assessment of the Cuban centers.
