Monrovia Health Mission

The medical-surgical campaign that we tell you about in this video is born from the collaboration that has existed for almost a decade between the Valencian NGO Surg For All and the St. Joseph's Hospital of Monrovia (Liberia), belonging to San Juan de Dios, and its international development cooperation organization Juan City NGO.

A mission whose primary objective is to consolidate a urological care service at San José Hospital, located in Liberia's capital.

This collaboration includes training local staff in the specialty of urology, and over the years has enabled nearly 30 Liberian healthcare professionals to train in Valencia.

Volunteer teams from Surg For All travel two to three times a year to this St. John of God Hospital in Monrovia, where they perform urology procedures on vulnerable individuals alongside local professionals trained in Valencia. These teams take advantage of these visits to share and consolidate techniques, ensuring they are adapted to the African context.

Furthermore, SFA's collaboration is facilitating the updating and modernization of the hospital's urological equipment.

In 2022, the year it was recorded this videoSurg For All conducted two missions to St. Joseph's Hospital in Monrovia, involving 12 healthcare professionals, including urologists, anesthesiologists, internists, and nurses.

This alliance between San Juan de Dios and Surg For All strengthens the mission of hospitality and care for sick and socially excluded people around the world.
