Meeting of the JCONGD team from the headquarters and the regional delegations

On September 26 and 27, Juan Ciudad NGOD held its Regional Delegates Meeting in Seville, under the theme "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts." With a total of 22 participants, the organization's work was discussed and reflected upon over two days, which included various case studies, presentations, and experiences.

Juan Ciudad NGO delegations are located in San Juan de Dios centers in 13 autonomous regions, with diverse realities and a common goal: improving the health of disadvantaged populations in Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

For Gonzalo Sales, director of the organization: "This meeting makes it clear that Juan Ciudad ONGD is both the team at the headquarters and our regional delegates. Great challenges await us as we continue to build the cooperation of the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God."

The welcoming address for the meeting was given by Brother Juan José Ávila, delegate of the Superior General and director of the Juan Ciudad Foundation, who emphasized that "The focus must always be on the vulnerable people we serve."

Among the areas discussed were projects, volunteering, logistical support, awareness-raising, and communication, in addition to twinning. At the end, there was a space for each delegation to present their context. The results of the post-meeting surveys were very positive, highlighting the increase in motivation and the importance of being able to reflect together.

Even so, it has also been highlighted that much work remains ahead, so our commitment now is to continue improving and learning, so that we can reach more people every day, through cooperation based on the defense of human rights, with special attention to the right to health and Sustainable Development Goal 3.

On Friday the 27th, the meeting participants paused for 4 minutes and 15 seconds to join the global climate demands, to remind everyone that it is urgent to implement measures to combat climate change and its consequences.

We would also like to thank the Province of Bética for its hospitality and welcome, as we were able to hold this meeting at the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Seville, with all the necessary resources to make the most of the two days of work.
