At Juan Ciudad NGO, we are seeking international volunteer opportunities at two SJD health centers in Cameroon and the SJD Hospital in Sierra Leone. Volunteers are working in the following specialties: gynecology and obstetrics, pharmacists, surgeons, and nurses. We'll share the projects these volunteers will be working on with you.
Support project for the gynecology and obstetrics service at the Saint John of God Health Centers in Boko and Yassa, Douala (Cameroon)
Both centers belong to the Order of Saint John of God, located in Douala, Cameroon. They work in the health field, in addition to orthopedic and rehabilitation services in the case of Yassa. The Boko Saint John of God Clinic is located in Boko Village, Douala. This health clinic offers general outpatient services and includes a small inpatient area for urgent cases.
The Yassa center includes a consulting room, a nine-bed inpatient area, a laboratory, an operating room/delivery room, a pharmacy/reception area, a treatment room, and a rehabilitation room.
Proposed collaboration:
The collaboration to be carried out is aimed at supporting care in the gynecology and obstetrics services of these centers and also the training of local staff.
-Gynecology and obstetrics care
-Maternity care, diagnosis, follow-up, anemia correction, malaria prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases such as HIV, syphilis, etc.
-Prenatal, delivery and postpartum care

- With professional experience
- With good knowledge of French or English
- With previous experience in international contexts (not necessarily linked to cooperation)
- With good aptitude for working in multidisciplinary and multicultural professional teams
- With experience and teaching skillsÂ
- Available to travel to the field for a minimum of 2 months

Support project at St. John of God Hospital in Lunsar, Sierra Leone
St. John of God Health Services in Sierra Leone includes St. John of God Hospital in Lunsar, founded by the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God in 1967, which serves a population of approximately 70,000.
This hospital currently offers outpatient and diagnostic services, including operating rooms, general consultations, a pharmacy, dental services, a laboratory, radiology, antenatal care, and a primary care and rehabilitation clinic. It also offers emergency services.
Proposed collaboration:
The collaboration will be aimed at supporting care in the various services at St. John of God Hospital and also assisting in the training of local staff.
