Brother Justino Izquierdo, a nurse and Brother of St. John of God for over 50 years, experienced the Liberian civil war firsthand as director of St. Joseph Catholic Hospital in Monrovia. He is now presenting a book that compiles the testimonies of many people who helped the civilian population during the conflict, with the collaboration of Brother RamĂłn CastejĂłn and Dr. Fernando Rivilla.
The book "Witnesses in the Mission: Liberia in Times of War" will be presented in Madrid next Thursday, April 26th. This special event will feature the book's authors, along with Brother Amador FernĂĄndez (Provincial Superior of Castilla), Brother JosĂ© MarĂa Viadero (Director of Juan Ciudad NGO), JuliĂĄn del Olmo (Director of the TVE program Pueblo de Dios), and Sister MarĂa Luisa GĂłrriz (Missionaries of the Immaculate Conception). The event will be moderated by Adriana Castro (Communications Manager of Juan Ciudad NGO).
