A film crew from TVE's "Pueblo de Dios" is in India recording the work of Saint John of God.

Brother JosĂ© MÂȘ Viadero, director of Juan Ciudad ONGD, sent us these photographs today from Kattappana, Kerala (India), where he is with the film crew of Pueblo de Dios on La2 of TVE, documenting the social and healthcare work carried out there by the centers of the Hospitaller Order and the Sisters of Charity of St. John of God.

The poverty affecting thousands of families prevents them from living a dignified life, and many people are even left alone, receiving care in these centers, which welcome them so they can have a place to live.

The Hospitaller Order currently has eight centers in India, serving a wide variety of groups: children with physical and intellectual disabilities, the elderly, the homeless and those at risk of social exclusion, the sick, and those with mental disorders.

Juan Ciudad NGO collaborates with these centers through development cooperation projects.

In these links you can see the centers of the Hospitaller Order and the Sisters of Charity of Saint John of God in India.

You can also read the articles Ricardo Olmedo is publishing on the Pueblo de Dios blog about the powerful experience of experiencing firsthand the difficult situation faced by many people in this region of India, and the impressive relief work being done there by members of the Hospitaller Order and the Sisters of Charity of St. John of God.

In her latest post, she tells the story of an eight-year-old boy and his seven-year-old brother who currently reside at the Sisters' Hostel in Kattappana and have experienced a childhood marked by domestic violence and marginalization. Their mother is currently incarcerated after killing the father of her children.
